TV and movie nerds everywhere are cracking open their piggy banks to help a good cause.

Beginning Monday, Sept. 1, the Cancer Gets LOST (CGL) memorabilia auction goes live to raise funds for the American Cancer Society. Hosted by Blacksparrow Auctions and open to fans and collectors around the globe, this official event will run through Sept. 27 and feature a digital catalog of several hundred items (original props, costumes, DVDs, autographs and other memorabilia) from an array of fan favorites.

Here’s a list of the films and television shows with signed or rare memorabilia featured in the auction:

American Horror Story
Bates Motel
Breaking Bad
Doctor Who
The Following
Game of Thrones
The Hunger Games
The Leftovers
Once Upon a Time
Orange is the New Black
Orphan Black
Pretty Little Liars
The Simpsons
Star Trek
The Strain
Super 8
The Voice
The Walking Dead
Young & Hungry

100% of the proceeds from all CGL items in the auction will be donated directly to the American Cancer Society (ACS). In addition, a percentage of the proceeds from a few items consigned through Blacksparrow Auctions will also be donated to the ACS. Auction items will be very clearly designated as CGL or Blacksparrow.

How it works: bidding will open Monday morning (PT), and a direct link to the auction will be posted on CGL’s website. Interested bidders then register and start bidding! Bidding is open from 9/1-9/27, and end of auction will be noted on each item’s page. When the auction ends, the highest bidder on each item wins it; there is no buy-it-now option. On Sept. 27, your final winning bid amount (“hammer price”) on all CGL items will be donated to the American Cancer Society through Blacksparrow Auctions. Please refer to specific Terms and Conditions on their site, and contact them with any logistical questions.

The auction is dedicated to the memory of Amy Jensen, wife of good friend Jeff Jensen of Entertainment Weekly. Amy passed away in June after bravely battling brain cancer for many years. CGL is honored to raise money for an organization that offers support to all families facing cancer with and on behalf of their loved ones. If you prefer to simply make a financial contribution to the ACS rather than bid on items, here are instructions to do so.

“We all have someone or know someone who is affected by cancer. It is by far the world’s deadliest killer. We are happy to do anything that we can to fight this disease,” said Fong Sam (of Blacksparrow Auctions) who was involved in the Official ABC Auction four years ago. “This journey that we have been on with our friends at Cancer Gets LOST has already been very gratifying and we look forward to launching this auction and seeing it through to the end.”

CGL is a non-profit organization founded by two LOST fans who work to raise funds for various cancer support charities through live events and auctions that feature rare and often autographed pop culture memorabilia. They are also hosting an onsite auction during LOST 2014 that is only open to attendees. 100% of those proceeds will also go to the ACS.
