Fall Guys is making the switch to free-to-play, Xbox and Switch versions dated

Mediatonic has revealed that Fall Guys will be going fully free-to-play on June 21st to coincide with the release of the game on Xbox, Nintendo Switch, and the Epic Games Store.

“Whether you’re on PlayStation, Nintendo Switch, Xbox, the Epic Games Store, or a mix of all of the above, you’ll be able to play Fall Guys for free —with cross-play, cross-platform parties, and cross-progression fully supported with the use of your Epic Games Account,” the developer said.

PlayStation and PC owners who purchase and play the game before June 21st will be rewarded with the Legacy Pack following the switch in business model. The Legacy Pack contains a nickname, nameplate, the Regal costume, the Veggie Dog costume, the Feisty Dwarf costume, and the game’s first season pass for free.

As mentioned above, as well as going free-to-play, Fall Guys is getting a season pass. The season pass is described as a “supercharged” version of the currently available Fame Path and can be purchased using a new currency known as Show-Bucks. There will be 100 levels of rewards to unlock that include new costumes and other cosmetics. Maxing out the season pass will grant enough Show-Bucks to purchase the next one. Mediatonic also confirmed that the free Fame Path will still be available and all earned Kudos carries over.

Finally, players can get some additional goodies through a pre-registration campaign. Upon reaching pre-registration milestones, players can get Kudos, a nameplate, a pattern, an emote, and a costume when the game goes free-to-play.

Fall Guys is available now on PlayStation 4 and PC, with a PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch release set for June 21st.
