Amazon is getting into the comic book publication game with Jet City Comics, which adapts classics and notable releases into comic books.

First up is Symposium Amazon to turn classic books into comics with Jet City Imprint from Neal Stephenson and later this year we’ll see a story from Game of Thrones author George R.R. Martin, called Meathouse Man. In 2014, Jet City will adapt Hugh Howey’s dystopian hit Wool into a serialized graphic novel. While all will be available digitally by default, Amazon expects to print limited editions for those who just have to get their prints on paper instead of a smudgy screen.

While Amazon will dabble in a few original works, their primary focus will be on adapting books from known authors and their existing properties.
