Held at the historic Hollywood Forever Cemetery on Santa Monica Blvd, FX brought the hit series American Horror Story to life for a select few fans and media reps by taking them on a brief tour of Los Angeles's celebrity death sites, including the infamous Murder House from AHS season one. Afterward, in a candlelit, blood-hued room, we got to meet a number of experts in the field of paranormal studies and the long history of violence and death that has gripped the rich and famous for over a century in the streets (but mostly the hotels) of Hollywood. Dearly Departed Tours owner and paranormal expert, Scott Michaels, joined award winning author and ghost expert Tom Ogden on stage for a lively discussion and Q&A with the audience. World renowned psychic and medium Lisa Williams (star of TLC's Life Among the Dead) expounded on her many run-ins with good and bad spirits and even the sad, spirit of Marilyn Monroe, whom we learned haunts a number of locations around the US, including the Roosevelt Hotel, her Brentwood home, and other places she felt comfortable in her former life. Then they wrapped up the evening with a sneak peek at American Horror Story season 2, introduced by actor David Anthony Higgins, who played Stan the tour guide on the series, and Rubber Man, who patiently posed for pictures with most of the fans in attendance.
We got a number of pictures from the evening and more than a few chills as people from the audience related their stories from the times they had encountered mysterious spirits. While we can’t relay their stories adequately here, we can share our collection of images from the night.
American Horror Story: Asylum premieres Wednesday, October 17, at 10pm/9 central on FX.
