It has been a long summer without Oliver Queen, but the Hood returns tonight as Arrow season two premieres.
For months we’ve had only bits and pieces of information to appease us, but tonight the wait is finally over as we return to Starling City, with all of its old inhabitants, plus a few newcomers! You can check out who we can expect to see with this Arrow casting update, but for now, let’s look at some of the questions raised by season one.
What will happen with our favorite vigilante after the literally Earth shattering events of the season one finale?
What does the future hold for Laurel and Oliver now that Tommy is out of the picture? Now that we know that John Barrowman’s Malcolm Merlyn is not dead, what role will the Dark Archer play in Oliver’s vigilante activities? Who is that mysterious blonde woman we saw in the season two sizzle reel? We’ve been told that she is the start of the Black Canary story, but how?
Thea and Roy Harper? Which one is the Speedy? What version of the Green Arrow sidekick will Colton Haynes become? Will it even be this season? How will Grant Gustin’s Flash be introduced? We’ve only seen a few bad guys introduced in a few press releases over the summer, who else is on tap for the rest of the season?
Summer Glau as Isobel Rochev… of course that in and of itself is something to look forward to. Not to mention more of Slade Wilson and Shado and the island storyline. How will the Arrow writers deal with the somewhat convoluted and certainly risqué relationship of the Green Arrow and Shado relationship of the comic books?
If you are like myself though, you want more than anything else to catch up with Oliver and his Arrow Crew, Felicity and Diggle. Can this trio rebuild what they lost in the season finale? Can they work together to transform Oliver from “The Vigilante” to whatever iteration of “Hood Guy” that he wants to become? Now that Emily Bett Rickards is a series regular (hard to believe her role was originally planned as a one off), what does that mean for fans of Olicity?
Of course, if all else fails, if no other storyline makes sense again, if we never learn another thing about the island… we will always have Stephen Amell, and his fabulous abs.
