After what seems like light years of waiting, thumb twiddling, and speculation, the official title to the Batman vs Superman movie has been revealed as Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice.
Hot off the heels of Ben Affleck’s Batsuit reveal last week, the official Man of Steel twitter page shared the above logo moments ago to indicate the start of production on Zack Snyder’s latest, an obvious nod to the upcoming Justice League movie. Something to note here would be the transition from “vs” to “V”. Does this mean the original sparring act for Superman and Batman has been cut? Will the film start the two mega-heroes on a unified front? Time will certainly tell.
In other JL related news, we got a closer look at the new Batmobile that was tweeted in the prior Batsuit reveal. In the original picture, we only got a peek at the mechanical bat’s derrière, and later picture showing off the top deck. (Tease much Bats?) Thanks to Blue Realm Studio’s Facebook page, we have a more detailed look at the clay model of the new Batmobile. Not too shabby, right? Obviously its hard to get a grasp on how this will affect the life size model, but thanks to Instagram user sagesurge we’ve got a preview of that too!
Not quite how we envisioned the Batmobile, but we think it’s off to a great start.
Moving from Batmobiles to Invisible Jets, Gal Gadot, aka Wonder Woman, was spotted filming in front of the Google offices in downtown Birmingham, Michigan. Now we’re gonna take a wild guess and say Diana is making a visit to Metropolis or Gotham for “business.” And from the looks of it, she’s in some pretty snazzy duds. We’re curious to know if that’s a DVF dress she’s wearing, or maybe a more important matter- if her royal heritage is addressed.
Heroes aside, there seems to be some news brewing on the villain front as well. Above is a picture tweeted by cinematographer Larry Fong on set. Could the Joker be in the mix too? We highly doubt he’ll make an appearance in Dawn of Justice, but it’s possible this could be the segue for him to appear in future installments in the franchise. This comes as no surprise as the same technique was used for Heath Ledger’s Joker by way of Batman Begins.
We do, however, know that Jesse Eisenberg is playing Superman’s bald nemesis Lex Luthor and he’s pretty excited about it. Eisenberg goes on to explain his interest in Luthor:
“The character is, luckily, a really great character. Actors can sometimes find really cool things in characters that aren’t written well. This character is written really well.”
As for Eisenberg as the next Lex Luthor, it could be a great fit considering he’s a gifted actor, scoring an Academy Award nomination for portraying a complex Mark Zuckerberg in The Social Network.
