Have you taken an unexpected dunk in the pool or maybe forgot to put your cell phone in a baggie before getting on that water ride at the amusement park? Ever have to fish it out of the toilet? You frantically try to dry it off before more damage can be done, but you know it's already too late. If you take it back to the store, odds are you won't get your money back or even a good replacement without paying out lots of money just because of a little water damage. But HzO is working to change all that. When HzO is applied to your phone with a microscopic nano-coating, no common liquid can damage it. We watched as they dropped an active phone in water, orange juice, Powerade, beer, and even Pepsi (most sodas can peel paint from a car), with no adverse effects whatsoever. One phone even had the back removed, completely exposing the battery and the circuits inside, but it didn't even squeal in pain when dunked underwater.
The only downside to HzO is that it’s not available for anyone to purchase as some kind of kit that they can use on their current devices (yet). But as they make deals with a variety of phone makers, expect to find HzO already installed in any number of the next wave of mobile devices in the coming year. Now if only someone could make the screens completely unbreakable.
