Community finally has a return date! According to a tweet from Shirley herself, actress Yvette Brown, the show’s first Dan Harmon-less season will begin on Thursday, February 7 at 8 PM EST (NBC has confirmed that she speaks the truth). Yes, you read that correctly – Thursday. While there was initially talk of migrating it to a Friday time slot (we all know that isn’t good), NBC decided to give its old time slot, which is currently being filled by the soon-to-be gone 30 Rock.
There was a bit of news regarding Harmon, the ousted showrunner, recently. Cartoon Network’s Adult Swim has ordered a 10-episode season of his and Justin Roiland’s (Fish Hooks) new half hour animated series, Rick and Morty. For some reason, though, they won’t be airing it until 2014. He won’t be completely bored until it gets going, though; he is currently developing it, a “multi-camera situation comedy for Fox” and Executive Producing Charlie Kauffman’s Anomalisa stop-motion short. Oh, and there’s also his hit podcast, Harmontown. Does this man ever take a break?
Community will no doubt be different without Harmon’s comedic sensibilities. Will you still be watching?
