Dark Horse Books and Nintendo have teamed up to bring The Legend of Zelda: Hyrule Historia to the United States. Released in Asia last December, the tome contains both the history of the Zelda franchise and Hyrule itself. The publisher had originally planned on unveiling the book at next month's Penny Arcade Expo, but decided to launch an Amazon Pre-order prior to that. Approximately 24 hours after the pre-order went live, it took the number three spot on the site’s Top 100 list. That's a pretty impressive feat, especially when you consider that the book won't ship for another five months.
The book will feature lots of concept art, hear stories from people involved with the series, including its creator, Shigeru Miyamoto and a new comic from well-known Zelda manga author, Akira Himekawa. If you, like me, are confused by the multiple incarnations of like, you’ll be happy to know that a chronology of games will be included, too.
All this can be yours for $20.00 via Amazon.com. Other retailers will have it, but pre-purchasing it from the site will save you $14.00. The Legend of Zelda: Hyrule Historia will be released on January 29, 2013.
