Sin City: A Dame to Kill For will hit the theaters this August and Dark Horse Publishing plans to release a whole bunch of Frank Miller's Sin City works in a variety of special editions for the fans.
So while there won’t be any new material released, enthusiasts will have an opportunity to complete their collections. First up will be a new hardcover edition of Sin City: A Dame to Kill For, which seems like a no brainer release to coincide with the film. Collectors and new fans will scoop this volume up as many will want to see how the original work translates onto the big screen.
Next is a re-release of 2002′s The Art of Sin City. This will be the first time the book has been available in softcover and also promises some new unpublished art work which should appeal to Miller’s vast fan base that has been watching his style grow and mature since his break through in the early 80′s on titles like Daredevil.
Last on the list is Frank Miller’s Big Damn Sin City, a 1,344-page oversized hardcover which collects all seven of Miller’s original Sin City stories. No doubt this will be the jewel in the crown of any Frank Miller or Sin City fan’s collection.
It’s been nearly eight years since Sin City hit the big screen, and fans have been eagerly awaiting the sequel despite its many set backs, including the push back of the original October 2013 release date. This is actually the second of Miller’s adapted works to be pushed back, with 300: Rise of an Empire also getting postponed from its August 2013 release date to March 7, 2014.
All three Dark Horse titles are scheduled for release June 25. Sin City: A Dame to Kill For will premier in theaters August 22, 2014.
