Usually, at one point or another during our early years, we begin a love affair with dinosaurs that, once it takes hold, never really lets us go. Kind of like a T-Rex and whatever-the-hell-it-wants-to-eat.
As grown ups, it’s fun (and sometimes a little awkward) to get nostalgic about the dinosaur obsessions of our youth. It didn’t matter if they were puppets or talking cartoon dinos or flying dinosaurs from an alternate reality. They were DINOSAURS!
With the return of Jurassic Park to theaters for its 20th anniversary (now in 3D), that nostalgia is at an all-time high for some of us. So let’s roll back the rock and get prehistorical with the greatest dino moments from our childhoods!
Let’s start off with some of the more recent appearances….
“Big head and little arms” – Meet The Robinsons
In this clip of one of the most under-rated Disney movies, the villainous Bowler hat guy unleashes a ferocious T-Rex to get the boy who could foil his plans.
Better luck next time Bowler Hat guy!
“David and the Skybax ceremony” – Dinotopia
Because who didn’t want to be in the Skybax corps?
Aww, poor Wentworth Miller got rejected his first time.
“Rex riding shotgun” – Toy Story 2
Seems legit that an astronaut toy should be taking directions from a dinosaur.
Out of all the Toy Story characters, Rex was totally our spirit animal.
“I’m The Baby, Gotta Love Me” – Baby Sinclair from Dinosaurs
This MTV inspired video of the best baby-isms was a staple before music videos also went the way of the dinosaurs.
“Not the mama!”
“Ducky meets Little Foot” – The Land Before Time
Seriously one of the first movies that “gave all of the feels”
Yup, Yup, Yup!
“Roll Back The Rock”- We’re Back!
Your childhood wasn’t complete without this gem.
Because wishing for Dinosaurs seems like a good idea but would only turn out like….
“T-Rex Rampage”- Jurassic Park
Then there is the mother off all Dino nightmares.
“Life, uh, finds a way.”
And to end on a happier note, here is another blast from the past!
“The Busasaurus” – The Magic School Bus Episode
There you have it, nostalgia bitch slap!
