Disney Infinity has seen its fair share of new additions this year, and now the sprightly Disney duck Donald is joining the crew.
Last year saw the addition of Sorcerer’s Apprentice Mickey into the Disney Infinity family, and now the company is adding Donald Duck to the fold. The adventure game that populates a magical world full of Disney characters has been quick to cull Disney characters from beyond the “core” cast, so Donald Duck’s addition is a pretty big one, especially given the complaints about the game’s lack of iconic characters.
Donald’s abilities will include throwing objects, sweeping enemies with a broom, and even a Three Musketeers-themed Power Disc, which will allow players to swap out the original outfit Donald wears (sans pants and all) with the one he wore in the classic animated film.
Donald isn’t the only classic Disney character joining the Disney Infinity lineup, though. Get ready for Goofy, Minnie, Pluto, and more of what should have been the multiple sets’ first editions as the year marches on and Disney Infinity 2.0 gears up for a September release.
With characters from Frozen to The Lone Ranger in tow, how long until we start seeing characters from movies like The Emperor’s New Groove or even other spinoff movies? Let’s go back to the basics, Disney, and deliver what the fans really want. And make sure we can’t understand a word of what Donald is actually saying. If we’re dreaming, how about a Kingdom Hearts spin-off?
