Brian Williams and the Ponds’ Fate Revealed in “Doctor Who: P.S.”

Several Whovians were left wondering about the fate of Rory’s father, Brian, after the events of the mid-season Doctor Who finale, “Angels Take Manhattan.” To appease those fans, the BBC has released a new, un-filmed scene entitled “Dr. Who: P.S.” to serve as an epilogue.

Through the use of animated storyboards, a narration (from Rory himself, Arthur Darvill) and on-screen text, the 4:39 clip clues us on what happened to all three characters after they parted ways. Even in its primitive form, it’s a pretty powerful scene that would have fit nicely into the episode.

Doctor Who Executive Producer Caro Skinner had this to say in a BBC interview: “We’re delighted we can present this lovely scene written by Chris Chibnall. People took Rory’s dad, Brian, to their hearts very quickly, so it’s fitting we can give the character a degree of closure in this poignant piece.”

We will next see the Doctor in the 2012 Christmas special, which, if tradition is followed, will air on December 25. Clara Oswin (Jenna Louise Coleman), our hero’s next companion, is rumored to be joining him for this adventure. If she shows up, it will be the first time we’ve seen her in action since this season’s first episode.
