After six months of waiting, we finally have our first glimpse of the next installment of the Hobbit Trilogy has arrived!
Over the weekend, we caught our first glimpse of the teaser poster for the upcoming Desolation of Smaug, which depicts Martin Freeman’s Bilbo Baggins at the entrance of the Kingdom Under the Mountain under the Lonely Mountain, now home to the dragon Smaug, who had driven out the Dwarves prior to the story.
Now, the teaser trailer for the film has been released:
It looks pretty interesting. We’re treated to the grandeur Peter Jackson’s world, as well as get some glimpses of some familiar faces, including Orlando Bloom’s Legolas. There’s some familiar scenes from the book, such as the House of Beorn and the Elves of Murkwood and our first glimpse of the Dragon, Smaug!
We’re pretty excited to return once again to Middle Earth, even as the first installment ran a bit long. This doesn’t give us any hope that they’ll trim the next installment down at all, but we can live with that.
