It's that time of year again! That time when all good little boys and girls head down to their local comic shop to pick up stacks of free comics and maybe even a sketch or autograph from their favorite comic creator. Saturday, May 5th is FREE COMIC BOOK DAY, which is essentially Christmas Day at comic shops around the world! The only difference is that the fat guy you see at the shop ISN'T Santa Claus (also - don't sit on his lap).
If you’re lucky enough to live near a shop that pulls out all the stops like I do, then you know you’re in for a good time, not just the chance to pick up some free books. Some shops give away prizes and others feature a long list of artists ready to do a sketch of your favorite superhero or cartoon character. But no matter where you are, you can pick up titles from publishers big and small, including Marvel, DC, Dark Horse, IDW, Image, Bongo, Archaia, Boom!, Aspen, and many more!
