You could be one of the first few to take humanity's baby steps into cyborgification. Okay, it could technically be said that our part meat/part machine lives began with the introduction of the smartphone (or probably well before that), but by taking our hands completely off our gadgets and controlling them completely by voice or the turn of our head, Google takes us one step closer to a day when we won't carry cell phones or even wear funky headbands and glasses; We'll soon just get an implant jacked into our heads with a procedure no more complicated than getting a tattoo or some light dental work.
But for now, Google Glass is the non-invasive approach to giving your day-to-day life a new layer of interactivity. However, your time is running out to be one of the first to officially own this likely revolutionary device and become an “Explorer”. Google just asks that you send a brief request via Google+ or Twitter, telling them what you’d do if you had Glass. You have to be over 18 years of age, a resident of the US, and able to get to one of the three big launch events in New York, San Francisco, or Los Angeles. And you need $1500. Let’s not forget that.
All of the details are available here: Google Glass – How to Get One
In the meantime, watch this video to see How It Feels to use Glass in your day-to-day life ballooning, ballet dancing, or walking down the catwalk at a fashion show (hey, you have to shoot something sexier than just clips of birthday parties and playing with your kids, right?).
