Harlan Ellison & Paul Chadwick Team for 7 Against Chaos

Two legends – Science Fiction author Harlan Ellison (A Boy and His Dog, Star Trek: The Original Series' "A City on the Edge of Forever") and comic artist Paul Chadwick (Concrete) – have teamed up for a new DC Comics graphic novel, 7 Against Chaos.

Excuse me, Harlan Ellison’s 7 Against Chaos. We always attempt to use the proper title around these parts.

The book is a Science Fiction take on Kurosawa’s Seven Samurai. Its setting is a “distant future” Earth plagued by catastrophe. Odd things – displaced souls from other times randomly appearing, spontaneous combustion, etc. – begin to occur often as the “fabric of reality becomes unraveled.” During this time of trouble, the world turns to a group of seven warriors with special abilities for help. Pretty nice premise, eh? I’m looking forward to seeing what the dynamic duo of Ellison and Chadwick do with it.

SyFy’s Blastr got their hands on a bit of Chadwick’s artwork from the book and it looks pretty awesome. I’ve included a section of it as this post’s main image; for the whole thing, hop on over to their post.

Harlan Ellison’s 7 Against Chaos will be available next summer. Will you be picking it up?
