Why just be an MMO player? Why limit yourself to just trading card gaming? Cryptozoic Entertainment, the makers of the World of Warcraft trading card game and lots of other licensed board games from The Walking Dead and The Big Bang Theory, is shaking up the gaming world with the launch of the already immensely popular HEX: Shards of Fate game.
We got the chance to talk to Cory Jones, the President and Head of Creative at Cryptozoic Entertainment, where they’re making the perfect marriage of MMO games and Trading Card Games with HEX Shards of Fate. With just days to go on their immensely successful Kickstarter campaign, they’re getting the word out on all of the amazing exclusive items that are available to their supporters and will never be offered again, even when this game takes over the world!
If you haven’t heard of Hex yet (it’s hard to imagine you haven’t if you’re an MMO or TCG player), it’s a game that takes the best of both gaming genres and melds them in a way that’s never been done before. Cryptozoic is in the final days of their Kickstarter project, which blew by their original goal of $300,000 and is now pushing up against $2 million as of this posting.
Whether you’re a hardcore gamer or a relative newbie like myself, this is your last chance to pony up some dough for a ton of exclusive game items that will never be made available again. In our exclusive interview below, Cory gives us the story on how the game came to be and why he felt, as a hardcore MMO and TCG gamer, it just HAD to be made. He even gives us news on a special exclusive card that will be added to every support tier tomorrow in honor of his birthday on June 5th. A clue as to what it will look like can be found toward the end of their pitch video below.
Head to HEXTCG.com to learn more about the game or to the official Kickstarter site now to contribute before it’s too late. Your last chance to contribute is Friday, June 7th. After that, Cryptozoic throws a short party for the team before heading back to work to fulfill the demands of thousands of gamers all over the world.
