Author Neil Gaiman’s episode of Doctor Who, "The Doctor’s Wife,” won him the allegiance of fans (a fair amount of them, at least) and critics. It also won him a Hugo Award for Best Dramatic Presentation, which he accepted in September. During his acceptance speech, he made mention that he was working on another Who-related project. It was undoubtedly another episode of the show; however, nothing was confirmed until today. Now, thanks to Doctor Who Magazine, we know Gaiman is officially writing another episode that will air next-to-last in the 2013 half-season.
What will Gaiman’s script be about? Will Idris, the T.A.R.D.I.S. human form, make an appearance? Right now, nothing is known about the story he will tell; we only know that as of September he was on his third draft of the script.
The rest of the writing line-up for the back-half of series seven are as follows: Steven Moffat (of course!), Neil Cross (Luther creator), Mark Gatiss (Sherlock co-creator) and Stephen Thompson (Sherlock writer).
The rest of season seven will air beginning in the spring of 2013. Of course, we will get the Christmas Special this December. Whatever shall we do to pass the time until then?
