Justice League: The Flashpoint Paradox was a great animated feature in a long line from DC Entertainment.

The film adapted the Flashpoint storyline from the comics, which ended in a pretty spectacular event that we will now see made into the next DC Animated Feature, Justice League: War. Adapted from the opening series of the New 52, War follows the creation of the Justice League as the DC Universe gets a full on reboot.

We saw a bit of this at the end of Flashpoint Paradox with the appearance of the modified costumes, but this will mark the first time we get to see the New 52 versions of the Justice League as they handle an invasion force from one of the biggest and baddest villains of the DC Universe, Darkseid.

A new image from the film, which was released on Twitter by Gary Miereanu (SuperPRGuy) reveals a new costume for Wonder Woman that takes a slight departure from her New 52 duds.

The new costume is still iconic and recognizable as Wonder Woman’s while enjoying some of the same modernization the other costumes went through in the reboot. The slightly darker color tones work well with the character, and personally I think the new costume looks great.

Wonder Woman will be voiced by Michelle Monaghan, and she joins Alan Tudyk, Jason O’Mara, Justin Kirk, Christopher Gorham, and Shemar Moore as Superman, Batman, Green Lantern, Flash, and Cyborg, respectively. It’s interesting to note that it doesn’t appear Aquaman will be featured in the film, despite his role as a founding member of the team in the New 52.

Justice League: War is confirmed for 2014, along with two other films that were announced at Comic Con, those being Son of Batman and Batman: Assault on Arkham. These three will join what is already a fantastic lineup of DC Animated Features.

Check out this 8 minute featurette with the cast and crew of the upcoming film as they take a look at the origin of the New 52 Justice League, the characters involved, and the actors providing the voices.
