If you aren't watching Justified, you are missing out on one of the best shows on television today. The series returns for its fifth season tonight on FX.
When watching First Wives Club way back in the mid-90s, there was no way to tell that Timothy Olyphant would become the actor is he today. However, by the time Deadwood rolled around, there was no denying that the man would be a force to be reckoned with. Now going into his fifth season playing the lead role in FX’s Justified, Timothy Olyphant personifies TV cowboy.
Based on the Elmore Leonard short story “Fire in the Hole,” Justified follows the story of Raylan Givens, a U.S. Marshall who has returned home to Harlan County, Kentucky. Of course the job of a Marshall doesn’t stop when they move so Givens picks up where he left off, and where he left off involved a lot of bad people.
A lot of the promo material for this fifth season has involved crows in one form or another, including the hashtag, #TheCrowesAreComing. This all to set up the big bad guy of the season, the Crowe family. However, much like other FX campaigns, there isn’t much in ways of story in their promos. Case in point? Check out the latest titled “Peck.”
Thankfully they haven’t all been mysterious imagery and have given fans a taste of Raylan Givens’ brand of badassery to tide them over until tonight’s premiere.
