Author Jeff Lindsay and artist Dalibor Talajic (Deadpool) have teamed to bring Lindsay’s Dexter to the world of comics.

Next year, Marvel will publish a five-issue miniseries following “everyone’s favorite” blood spatter expert/psychopath, Dexter Morgan, on the hunt for the Skid Row Slasher, a new serial killer working within the confines of Miami. Marvel’s announcement of the book mentions that the plot involves a high school reunion; if it’s Dexter’s, odds are it will make covering his tracks even more difficult. It will be an official part of the same cannon as Lindsay’s novels.

“Marvel Comics has always been a place where I felt at home. It has been a very important part of my life, and has always been a wellspring of creative and relevant ideas,” Lindsay revealed in a Marvel press release. “I feel like I’m coming home. It is a huge thrill for me to bring Dexter into this very special pantheon.”

The first issue of Dexter will be on shelves in February. You’ll be able to read Dexter’s Debut, Lindsay’s latest novel (book 7 in the Dexter series), in early 2013 as well. Fun times will be had by all, aside from Dexter’s foes.
