Horror director Rolfe Kanefsky, of Nightmare Man fame, posted a gorgeous and terrifying image for the proposed feature Megafoot.
Kanefsky is rumored to be pitching the film to Syfy, and if the internet buzz that followed the posting is any indication of the potential popularity of the feature, it’s highly likely fans will get to see it.
Thought I’d share the poster for hopefully my return to the horror genre. A new script that I wrote and, if all goes well, will be directing in the Spring. Let me introduce you to my creature feature, MEGAFOOT!
The arguably terrible and simultaneously wonderful monster/disaster movies have become a Syfy standard, so this seems like it could be a good fit, though one wonders if it can be done right on a cable movie budget. The network is famous for movies like RoboCroc and Sharktopus, but recently saw its biggest hit in Sharknado. A sequel to the internet/Halloween costume sensation is planned for 2014 and titled Sharknado 2: The Second One. The upcoming movie’s cast remains a mystery at the moment, with a network representative telling the Huffington Post no cast decisions have been made.
Tara Reid spoke out over Twitter in July assuring audiences she had not yet read a script, nor had she been officially replaced or cut.
There is no script for sharknado 2 until i read it then i will make a decision but everyone that is saying i got cut that is not true#liars

For those fans of the extreme disaster/creature cross over, it appears as though Syfy will continue to provide endless combinations of humanities worst fears like Arachnoquake and Ragin Cajun Redneck Gators.
Their original films are not the only thing drawing fans to the network. Original hit shows like Haven and Haunted Highway reflect the fans desire to have the bejeebers scared out of them, and Megafoot should be just what the Cryptozoologist ordered.
