In preparation for their upcoming release in September, LAIKA and Focus Features have released some new posters introducing us to a few more characters from the world of The Boxtrolls.

While the cast list has been released, only a few characters have been named. Simon Pegg, Toni Collette, and Tracy Morgan are among those actors whose characters have yet to be announced. Nick Frost is listed on IMDB as a character called Trout, though he could well be voicing the character on the posters called Fish.

This years Comic-Con panels for the movie will include an experience with bug Chef David George Gordon, who will cook up some famous bug and insect edible creations, challenging the audience to ‘eat like the Boxtrolls’. Isaac Hempstead Wright will be on hand to sign posters for fans.

Fandango’s Dave Karger will moderate a panel featuring Sir Ben Kingsley, who voices the villain Archibald Snatcher, as well as the film’s young stars Hempstead-Wright and Elle Fanning, who voice Eggs and Winnie, respectively. Directors Anthony Stacchi and Graham Annable will also be on hand and will be joined by producer, lead animator and LAIKA president and CEO Travis Knight.

In case you yourself have been down in the underground with The Boxtrolls, the quirky new stop motion animated feature follows the adventure of the orphan Eggs (Hempstead-Wright), a boy raised by boxtrolls. Life is good for Eggs and his underground family until the sinister Archibald Snatcher (Kingsley) starts rounding up the boxtrolls in order to keep the city streets troll free. Eggs has little choice but to head up and into a world stranger than anything he has ever known, the real world. With the help of the lovely Winnie (Fanning), Eggs will do his best to save his family while learning that being odd is not necessarily a bad thing.
