Marvel Cinematic Universe

The Avengers are ready for their victory lap (or swan song depending on your hypothesis).

The Russo Brothers recently posted a picture on their Facebook account declaring that they have begun shooting the fourth Avengers movie, and the final Phase 3 film of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. They also added an ominous caption to mark the event.

Beginning the end.

“Beginning the end.” Like we said, this is the final film to wrap up this current storyline of the MCU, which has stretched for three different phases before its confirmed evolution into the Marvel Cosmic Universe. However, are we looking into the end of whoever this hand belongs to? Of course, this can be thrown in several different directions that could speculate the most logical to even the most far-fetched. We can at least eliminate Thanos being the owner of this hand as his giant CGI gauntlet probably didn’t receive a downgrade. While this hand in the picture is big enough to palm a basketball, I have a feeling the Josh Brolin character is content with dunking planets. That and Brolin has been rocking mo-cap suits during filming.

One immediate thought is Captain America. Chris Evans has been known to say that he’s ready to give it up, with always following up with his love to do more. Could this be his curtain call as the character fades to black, or at least gets passed to the next super soldier that dons the suit? We also know that Jeremy Renner is scheduled to begin shooting as well so perhaps we’re looking at the end of Hawkeye. Granted, we’ve been teased the end of Hawkeye for the better part of the decade now so perhaps that is too obvious. We also looked at his uniform over the last few years and while he went glove-less in the first Avengers, and sort of gloved in the second one, the Civil War version of Barton did have a glove on his right hand and this is a right hand in the Russo post so perhaps?

We should find out more in the next few months whether the Russo’s or other stars post their pictures from the set or we get more information in regards to Avengers: Infinity War. As always, stay tuned to GEEK for the latest news and developments!
