TV star and well-known ambassador for science Bill Nye hosted an ‘AMA’ (Ask Me Anything) on Reddit today to promote his new Netflix series Bill Nye Saves The World, which premieres on Friday, April 21st.

One of Reddit’s most well-known features, AMAs bring in celebrities, experts or otherwise interesting people, and provide an open forum Q&A session to the website’s users. The beloved Science Guy divulged a few great tidbits from his career and his personal life, and we’ve curated some of our favorite questions and answers for fans looking forward to Nye’s television return later this week.

On Elon Musk, Tesla and SpaceX:

On his favorite, spooky science fact:

On the future of Earth without conscious conservation and intervention:

On his new theme song composer, Tyler, the Creator:

On his favorite, thirst-quenching element:

On choosing a favorite Bill Nye the Science Guy episode:

On his favorite astronomical landmark:

On humans living on Mars and beyond:

After many years outside the public eye, Nye resurfaced and took on the outspoken role supporting science education and the fight against climate change. In 2014 Nye famously debated with creationist Ken Ham on the topic “Is Creation A Viable Model of Origins?” The debate topped 6 Million views on YouTube.

Bill Nye Saves the World is Nye’s proper return to television and is set to teach a whole new generation – youth and adult alike, -about the wonders of science and discovery. We’ll be tuned in with our own safety goggles and rubber gloves on hand.
