According to series writer Warren Ellis, Netflix’s hit video game adaptation Castlevania will return sometime during summer 2018. The eight-episode second season will see vampire hunter Trevor Belmont (voiced by The Hobbit‘s Richard Armitage) return as he fights to save a besieged city from an army of otherworldly creatures controlled by Dracula.
Ellis has taken to Twitter to inform fans the details of the show’s second season. He tweeted: “FAQ: people keep asking, so I guess word didn’t get around? We’re coming back this summer, for eight episodes, from @Netflix.”

Netflix had previously greenlit a second season for the anime series but hadn’t divulged when we might see it. Ellis offered up the first solid piece of confirmation as to when we might see the sophomore round of Trevor Belmont’s ongoing adventure. Season one ended with Belmont teaming up with the mage Sypha (Alejandra Reynoso) and Dracula’s son, Alucard (James Callis), to go hunt the king of the vampires for the havoc he’s been wreaking on the bleak world of Wallachia. The entire cast will be returning including Game Of Thrones‘ Graham McTavish as Dracula.
The series’ first four-episode season adapted Castlevania III: Dracula’s Curse and ended up receiving positive notices for its voice acting, lush animation and sense of adventure, a feat not usually attributed to video game adaptations of any kind.
The Castlevania animated series is written by best-selling author and comic book icon Warren Ellis and executive produced by Ellis, Kevin Kolde, Fred Seibert, and Adi Shankar.
Look for Castlevania Season 2 summer 2018 on Netflix.
