The internet was buzzing recently after a couple pictures dropped online featuring a very interesting trio of actors. The actors are Hugh Jackman, Pierce Brosnan, and Ryan Reynolds, or as they might be more commonly known – Wolverine, James Bond, and Deadpool. These three could obviously have many reasons to be together at any given time in Hollywood, but let’s take a look at just why these pictures could mean so much more to fans of the continuing X-franchise.
Ryan Reynolds hasn’t kept his desires to see Hugh Jackman return to Wolverine for a team-up film with Deadpool a secret, even going so far as asking the fans to get behind his plans and push Jackman out of Wolvie retirement following his ‘final’ appearance as the character in the upcoming Logan. So anytime we see these two actors together – who previously starred together as their respective characters in X-Men Origins: Wolverine – it’s bound to have fans talking about a potential Wolverine/Deadpool movie.
What really makes tongues wag with this picture is the fact that the Deadpool sequel is also looking for the right actor to play the role of Cable, militaristic mutant leader who has an unusual friendship with Deadpool and was revealed to be a part of the sequel in the post-credits scene of Deadpool. Could this pic really mean that not only has Jackman agreed to maybe reprise the role he’s held for over 15 years, but he might be doing it alongside Pierce Brosnan as Cable?
Yeah, that’s pretty much how we feel about it too, Pierce.
There have been quite a few names thrown around regarding the casting of Cable since he was first announced, with Liam Neeson, Kyle Chandler, Stephen Lang, Dolph Lundgren, Ron Perlman, and more being rumored. Brosnan could be an interesting choice, and if you’re wondering what he might look like as the character, Boss Logic put together this cool piece of fan art to give us an idea:
We’ll obviously have to wait for further confirmation, as anything out from these images so far is all speculative. Do you want to see a Deadpool sequel featuring Wolverine and Cable?
