Disney•Pixar has released the new Incredibles 2 trailer and we get a look at the Parr family back in action after nearly 15 years. The official trailer gives us our first look at the film’s villain, the mysterious Screensaver, who uses computer and television screens to hypnotize the public.
In Incredibles 2, Helen (voice of Holly Hunter) is called on to lead a campaign to bring Supers back, while Bob (voice of Craig T. Nelson) navigates the day-to-day heroics of “normal” life at home with Violet (voice of Sarah Vowell), Dash (voice of Huck Milner) and baby Jack-Jack—whose superpowers are about to be discovered. Their mission is derailed, however, when a new villain emerges with a brilliant and dangerous plot that threatens everything. But the Parrs don’t shy away from a challenge, especially with Frozone (voice of Samuel L. Jackson) by their side.

The trailer really shines a spotlight on the family dynamic of the Parr’s, something that really sets them apart from other feature-film superhero teams. It shows off more of the super-family adjusting to a new status quo that has Bob Parr/Mr. Incredible as a stay-at-home dad while he deals with things like Jack-Jack‘s ability to manipulate all sorts of energy. Elastigirl gets a lot of attention in this trailer and after the success of Wonder Woman, it’s no surprise that Disney•Pixar would focus on her character. There is also a lot of Samuel L. Jackson’s Frozone guaranteeing some dynamic action set-pieces.
Fourteen years after The Incredibles became a smash hit with over $600 million worldwide, Pixar is finally bringing the Parr family back to the big screen and the wait looks like it will be worth it. Incredibles 2 also sports the vocal talents of Bob Odenkirk, Catherine Keener, Sophia Bush, and Jonathan Banks.
