It’s well-known that Captain Marvel will be showing up to meet the Avengers in the yet untitled Avengers 4 movie, due out on May 4th, 2019. How and why she does so is still a mystery, since her solo movie, which hits the big screen a few months early in March, is set in the 1990s.

Actress Scarlett Johansson recently revealed some details on one of Marvel’s encounters with Earth’s Mightiest Heroes. Johansson, who plays the Avenger Black Widow, states:

“We have Brie Larson [who plays Marvel] on this film. She’s here before shooting the stand-alone Captain Marvel movie so we get to watch her get her feet wet for real. She’s so great, but a really cute thing happened the other day where Hulk is standing next to her and Joe Russo told her to put her hand in front of Mark [Ruffalo]’s face to stop him, and she’s like, ‘In front of his face?’ And they explained, ‘that’s where his chest is,’ and she looks up and yells, ‘I’m new! I’m new!’ I’m like, ‘damn, girl.’ It’s very surreal for me to watch these new cast members come in and get their feet wet and breath new life into these characters who are so iconic.”

Avengers

That remark by director Russo to Larson on where to put her hand is a bit telling, and a possible hint to Marvel’s encounter with the Avengers may begin with the typical superhero vs superhero brawl. That or the Hulk is having one of his rampages again. In any case, it will be a visual feast to see Larson, who measures at 5’7″, as the super-strong Marvel go toe-to-toe against the 8′ tall CGI-generated Hulk.

As stated above, both the Captain Marvel and Avengers movies hit the theaters in 2019. For more information on one of the Mightiest Avengers, check out our earlier posts on her here, here and here.
