Earlier this week, Friday The 13th: The Game released its Virtual Cabin 2.0 update, which gave players the added bonus of an online space to which to explore and discover hidden gems from the franchise’s history. One of the new highlights for players is the reveal of the Uber Jason skin. Long before the game’s release, fans were asking when they would officially get a skin designed after Jason’s look in Jason X.
We all know that much-maligned but over-the-years’ embraced 10th film in the franchise. Jason is cryogenically frozen, wakes up on a spaceship in the future, is “killed”, and then reanimated as a superhuman version of himself. That old chestnut.
When players look around the new Virtual Cabin, they’ll be delighted to find their first look at the game’s playable Uber Jason, along with the tease that the ship map is “coming soon.” Much like the recently added Jason Goes To Hell map, It looks like we’ll also be getting the futuristic spaceship setting as a playable map.
Perhaps even more exciting is that as of this week, you can play the game all by yourself. That’s right, offline bots have arrived for Friday the 13th: The Game, so now you don’t have to venture into the hit-and-miss world of online gaming. The bots are a free addition for all platforms and work on every map of the game, and let you live out your murderous horror fantasy of being Jason Voorhees as he stalks unsuspecting, or more-than-expecting, camp counselors.
Let’s also not forget that they just unveiled that we would finally be getting Shelly Finkelstein from Friday The 13th: Part 3 as a playable character.
Friday The 13th: The Game is available now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One. It’s really the game that keeps on giving.
