San Diego Comic Con is right around the corner and Marvel is undoubtedly looking to make a splash with their upcoming lineup of Netflix shows. The Defenders is due to release next month with The Punisher to follow in November. Additionally, production is underway on Jessica Jones season two so they should have plenty to show off to eager fans crowding Hall H. Now though, fans have something else to look forward to as a pair of posters were just revealed in Entertainment Weekly featuring fantastic artwork for both The Defenders and The Punisher.

The new poster for The Defenders features some gorgeous art done by Marvel TV Creative Director Joshua James Shaw. The four heroes are standing side by side with New York City in the background each stylistically highlighted by the colors that have essentially represented their shows. Interestingly, the poster features Finn Jones as Danny Rand looking more like the Iron Fist were accustomed to seeing in the comics sporting a green jacket and showing off his dragon tattoo. Check it out right here!

While The Defenders poster is quite colorful, The Punisher poster is instead primarily done in black and white. Of course, that stark contrast is accentuated by the red blood splatter on Frank Castle’s face and iconic skull T-shirt. Marvel Entertainment Chief Creative Office Joe Quesada handled the artwork for The Punisher poster fans will receive next week, and did an equally amazing job. Jon Bernthal looks haunting in the poster – he looks simultaneously like a broken man and an absolute bad ass. Take a look below.

The Defenders will see Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage and Danny Rand unite to save New York City from a serious threat that none of them would be able to take on single handed. On the flip side, Frank Castle will be on a far more personal journey in The Punisher as he likely pursues the people that killed his family while also evading authorities.

The kind of Geek that has several shelves on my book case dedicated to Star Wars novels. Star Wars is essentially a way of life for me. Other things are cool too. Generally a big fan/critic of movies, I try to go to the theater once a week. There's a lot of great TV out there too, chances are if I can, I'll write about the stuff I love. I dig the Marvel and D.C. universes so far...except Suicide Squad...that was a disappointment. I love a lot of music but I gravitate to alternative and punk. The Libertines are my absolute favorite. Michigan born and raised and I root for my home teams; Tigers, Lions, Red Wings, Pistons and Spartans.
