Locke & Key co-creator Gabriel Rodriguez’s embarks on a new project that brings the Arthurian myth to an alien world. Titled Sword Of Ages, this is one series comic fans are going to want to keep an eye on.

Sword Of Ages is a five-issue miniseries adventure of epic proportions courtesy of writer/artist Gabriel Rodriguez. It follows a young woman who will become the first wielder of the most famous sacred weapon of all time to champion for her world’s survival, inspiring a legion of heroes to join her struggle against a merciless alien force. The line between science fiction and magic might get fuzzy, but the line between heroes and villains will be drawn in blood.

Check out the reveal trailer for Sword Of Ages below:

“It all started with a series of images I wanted to flesh out, built over the backbone of a myth that had always fascinated me,” Rodriguez told Heat Vision when the project was first announced. “It will let me talk about subjects that interest me while creating a visual world of the kind I would love to get into as a reader.”

Rodriguez’s other popular property, Locke & Key was recently picked up for series over at Hulu. Judging by the inventiveness and built-in readership for the author, chances are good that Sword Of Ages could become a hot commodity for film studios and TV Networks. The Locke & Key adaptation has already attracted such names as Frances O’Connor and Danny Glover, in addition to a pilot being directed by IT director Andy Muschetti.

You can check out an exclusive preview of Sword Of Ages #1 from Gabriel Rodriguez below. He is one of the sharpest visual storytellers in comics, and the below preview highlights just some of the wonder and drama he brings to this alien world.

Sword of Ages No. 1, published by IDW Publishing, will be available in comic stores and digitally as of November 29th, 2017.
