Welcome to the second part of our nostalgic look at '90s cartoon theme songs!
Remember, these themes represent shows that originated in the ’90s (1990-1999). So don’t have a hissy fit when you don’t see DuckTales (1987) or Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (1987 as well) on here!
Sure, this superhero show wasn’t the greatest. But its theme song was certainly incredible. WILDC.A.T.S.!
19. The Tick
SPOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOON! The Tick would rather leap tall buildings instead of sucking your blood dry with a straw.
18. Eek! The Cat
Before Courage The Cowardly Dog, there was a cat who was scared of everything. This guitar shredding theme was frightening, too.
These babies took us on grand adventures in living rooms and beyond. And their cute as a button theme welcomed us into their world.
16. Powerpuff Girls
Cartoon Network’s most powerful girl trio were welcomed by this fantastic, fast-as-hell cartoon theme song.
15. South Park
Oh, the controversial humor this show provides is still awesome. Kenny dies a lot, but we’re sure this theme brings him back to life every time.
14. Darkwing Duck
“Let’s…Get…Dangerous.” Disney’s answer to Batman made for an instantly memorable character.
13. SpongeBob Squarepants
“Who lives in a pineapple under the sea?” We’re quite sure you all know the answer to that one…
12. Batman Beyond
Underrated and underappreciated, Batman Beyond welcomed a new generation to a younger and cooler [argumentative] Batman.
11. Dragon Ball Z
If you know who Goku, Vegeta, Cell, and Gohan are, then you’re childhood was the ish! The American theme was just as hyper and action-packed as the intro it backed up.
10. Tiny Toon Adventures
The Looney Tunes’ pupils-in-training were just as zany and hilarious. We know this one word for word.
We still want to be the very best. The monster collecting craze of the ’90s owes some of its success to this cartoon theme song.
A children’s book character got his own cartoon adaptation on PBS way back when. Arthur the Aardvark and his animal friends taught us how to adopt some strong character traits. HEY!
Marvel’s web slinger crawled all over NYC… and he probably had this tune blaring through his headphones while he did.
The finest mutants comics have ever created also graced TV screens with this incredible cartoon. The intro with all the team introductions made the song even stronger.
5. Ren & Stimpy
Sick. Demented. Insane. And ultimately funny every time we watched it! This jazzy number is still wonderful music to our ears.
4. Pinky and The Brain
Two laboratory mice tried to take over the world ever night. Pinky and the Brain could have done it, but their mishaps turned into an entertaining misfortune.
So the WB Tower had three little crazed things running around in there, huh? They sure can sing! “HELLOOOOOOOOOOOO NURSE!”
One YouTube user’s comment summarizes this show perfectly – “This show is essentially the kid-friendly version of what happens when someone absorbs the core of 4Chan.”
1. Batman: The Animated Series
The Dark Knight ruled the ’90s cartoon era, thanks in large part to this epic intro and stunning musical score.
That concludes our musical trip down memory lane! What other shows could have made this list? Let us know in the comments section below!
