If you're having Pedro Pascal aka Oberyn Martell withdrawals, fret not! The Chilean actor will star in Netflix's upcoming drama series, Narcos.
Its a general web-wide consensus that Pedro Pascal has proved his bad assery and new sex symbol status (Pssh don’t deny you’re not swooning at the thought him!) in his role as Game of Thrones’ Red Viper, leaving most of us with a man-crush for the overly charming swordsman. Though we won’t be seeing him in Westeros after last Sunday’s episode (we’re still not over that by the way), Pascal’s talents have obviously caught the eyes of the right people as he is set to star opposite Wagner Moura in Netflix’s latest, Narcos.
Narcos is the true life story of the growth and spread of international cocaine cartels and the aggressive efforts of law enforcement to meet them head on in brutal, bloody conflict. In the center of it all is Mexican DEA agent Javier Pena (Pascal) and Colombian cocaine kingpin Pablo Escobar (Moura) in an intense game of cat and mouse as Pena’s been recruited by the U.S. to secure and or kill Escobar. Written by Chris Brancato and directed by Jose Padilha, Narcos will premiere on Netflix in 2015.
But obviously 2015 is light years away – and if you’re like myself and the rest of the gang here at Geek, you’re still having major withdrawals. We got you covered. Check out Pedro’s fun-filled Instagram with in the moment shots of all the Westerosi cast. Hey! Him and the Mountain even made up! He’s such an awesome sport, how could you not love him. No, seriously. How could you not?
And if that wasn’t enough surely this incredibly adorable/sexy video of Pedro and Lena Headey – aka the best wine guzzler in the realm- on the set of their shoot for Hunger TV.
But if something more substantial tickles your fancy, catch his interview with HBO where he goes on to explain if Prince Oberyn is a feminist:
Absolutely. Without choosing to be. It’s just intrinsic and logical to him. Ellaria Sand is the love of his life because she is his equal, if not his superior, in certain ways. That’s part of what makes him such a fierce man because he knows who to take his lead from.
And one more for the road.
Be sure to keep it locked to Geek for more Narcos updates, and perhaps some intermittent random Pedro Pascal swooning. You’ve been warned.
