Valiant Entertainment continues to resurrect classic characters from their past roster. So far, they’ve brought back XO-Manowar, Harbinger, Bloodshot and Archer & Armstrong; Shadow Man is next up on the list.
In November, Shadow Man #1, from the creative team of Justin Jordan and Patrick Zircher, will be released. As in its previous incarnation, the new book will follow the continued adventures of supernaturally powered jazz musician Jack Boniface as he defends New Orleans against “unspeakable monstrosities from beyond the night.”
When Shadow Man debuted in 92, it grew to be one of the more successful Valiant properties. Ice Cube was determined to adapt it to film and star as Boniface, but that fell through; however, Acclaim Entertainment, owners of Valiant Comics from 1994-2007, produced two fairly successful video games based on the series. Oh, and we can’t forget about Aerosmith making a cameo appearance in issue 19.
The gallery below features on cover shot and five pages from the first issue of the new Shadow Man. It will be on shelves in November.
