Valiant Entertainment tossed us a preview of the first installment of their Valiant Masters series, Valiant Masters: Bloodshot Vol. 1 HC - Blood of the Machine (out October 24). It collects Kevin VanHook and Don Perlin’s Bloodshot #1-8, which originally hit comic shops way back in 1992. It also features an all-new Bloodshot tale set in the original Valiant Universe from VanHook, Perlin and Bob Wiacek.

Brought back from the grave by the government scientists of Project Rising Spirit, Bloodshot is powered by microscopic nano-machines that can repair all injuries and maximize his physical potential. It’s quite heartening to see Valiant Entertainment make a solid effort to reintroduce the world to classic Valiant Material. Without the old school, there’d be no new school, right? Hopefully this sells well enough to warrant future installments of the series.
