An extraterrestrial arms race sound pretty exciting, right? That’s exactly what ensues in the pages of X-O Manowar #5 after the X-O suit appears on Earth. The fine folks at Valiant Entertainment sent us a 5-page preview of the book along with a couple of variant covers, all of which may be viewed in the gallery that accompanies this post.
The story arc that begins in issue five, titled “Enter Ninjak,” will re-introduce the “deadly mercenary” known as Ninjak, a mid-90s Valiant character created by Mark Moretti and artist Joe Quesada. Mr. Ninjak is contracted by Vine agents within MI6 to assist in recover the X-O Manowar suit. “Enter Ninjak” springs from the minds of writer Robert Venditti (The Surrogates) and artist Lee Garbett (Batman: The Return of Bruce Wayne).
After several years of legal battles, it’s great to see Valiant Entertainment titles are finally making it to stores. I expect great things from their “Summer of Valiant” promotion and hope to soon hear about a Mangus, Robot Fighter revival.
