It’s no surprise that some of the first bit of promotion for the upcoming sequel to Deadpool – only known as Deadpool 2 so far – would not land in the usual place. The first film played with how films were promoted by taking a meta/fourth wall breaking approach that suited the character perfectly. We’ve been given a few promo shots of the new characters premiering in the sequel – Josh Brolin as Cable and Zazie Beetz as Domino – but our new look at Deadpool 2 fittingly comes to us on the cover of… Good Housekeeping?
That’s right, the newest issue of Good Housekeeping features Ryan Reynolds in costume as Merc-with-a-Mouth Deadpool, complete with apron and a delicious looking turkey.
“Deadpool’s persistence to be in Good Housekeeping was impressive – initially we had no idea who he was, let alone that he was a fan of the magazine,” Jane Francisco, Editor in Chief, Good Housekeeping said in a statement. “But after repeated attempts to ignore his… passion… we came to a compromise. He could appear in one issue, if he promised to stop leaving care packages at our editors’ homes and agreed to maintain a 50-foot distance from the Good Housekeeping offices and our staff.”
“After years of weekly emails and countless carrier pigeons, Good Housekeeping finally returned my calls,” Deadpool adds. “And while it’s a dream come true, apparently we have vastly different opinions on the definition of a ‘holiday spread’…”
Wade Wilson is ready to follow his hero Martha Stewart with some holiday tips for fans, including recipes for “D’s Nuts”, “How to be a Supper Hero”, and “Giving Your Family the Bird”. The poster below is included in the issue of “Dead Housekeeping” and features the new and returning cast in what is sure to the filthiest Thanksgiving dinner you’ve ever seen.
Deadpool 2 hits theaters on June 1, 2018. Keep it locked to GEEK as we wait patiently for the first trailer.
