The Guardians of the Galaxy  Vol. 2 won’t hit theaters until May of 2017, but we’ve got a sneak peek to keep us hooked. The second installment of the Marvel hit will continue to follow the misadventures of our favorite band of space miscreants, and from the trailer it looks like we’re in more of what we loved in the first film.

The footage doesn’t give much away when it comes to plot, though we have a pretty good idea it has something to do with  Star-Lord’s (Chris Pratt) search for his real father.

The humor that made the first film a hit is highlighted in the trailer with Star-Lord and Dave Bautista’s Drax having a chat about the former’s romantic feelings for teammate Gamora. While Star-Lord has his mind on the ladies, old frienemy Ravager Yondu Udonta (Michael Rooker) has either joined the team, or is working alongside them this time around. From the trailer, it seems Udonta and Rocket Raccoon are breaking Gamora’s “sister” Nebula (Karen Gillan) out of lock up.

Yondu and Nebula both appear on the movie’s newest poster as well, which was also revealed this week. Look close for an adorably tiny Groot posing with the team. how much help he’ll be at this size is questionable, but the awww factor is worth losing his amazing skills for a little while.

Best of all are the last two seconds or so, featuring a gun-toting Rocket and a very adorable Groot. We know that the new movie is sure to have a most epic and wonderful soundtrack for those creatures of the universe who love to get their groove on. Looking forward to the return of The Guardians of the Galaxy?
