We’re moving closer to the highly-anticipated premiere of Hulu’s upcoming Marvel’s Runaways adaptation. The series is set to debut on the streaming service on November 21, and a new series of character posters have been released to tease the main players of the upcoming adaptation of Brian K. Vaughn and Adrian Alphona’s hit comic series.
The character posters follow the release of a new banner image that not only showcases the young cast of the series – and their villainous cult-like parents – but also teases the previously unrevealed Old Lace, a Deinonychus who joins the team in the comics.
The posters highlight the various weaponry/powers of the group, which seem a little streamlined from their comic book counterparts (especially in Chase’s case) but make sense for the medium. You can check out the character posters below:
The posters tease Alex Wilder with his broken tablet – a modernized representation of his character’s intelligence – and the first person introduced in the original comic. Molly (Hernandez in the series) Hayes’ poster focuses on her increased strength, due to her being a mutant in the comics. Chase Stein’s posters focuses on his battle gauntlets AKA the Fistigons, which look impressive but don’t quite match up to the comic scale of the weapons. Karolina Dean’s poster highlights both her alien powers as well as the bracelet her parents used to hide her true self, which is shattered in the image. Nico Minoru’s mystical ‘Staff of One’ takes center stage in her poster, and promises to be one of the most unique weapons we’ll see in the series… at least until we finally get to meet Gertrude Yorkes and discover her connection to Old Lace, which is again teased in her character poster.
The cast for the series includes Rhenzy Feliz as Alex Wilder, Allegra Acosta as Molly Hernandez, Gregg Sulkin as Chase Stein, Virginia Gardner as Karolina Dean, Lyrica Okano as Nico Minoru, and Ariela Barer as Gert Yorkes. While early reviews on the series have been mixed, fans are still pretty excited to see the Runaways finally hit live-action.
Marvel’s Runaways streams on Hulu starting on November 21.
