We still don’t have a release date on the third season of Ash vs. Evil Dead, but that doesn’t mean there is nothing for fans to enjoy. Toy company NECA has revealed the second wave of their Ash vs Evil Dead action figure line, and they are phenomenal. The first series, which we talked briefly about back in February, featured two different versions of Ash, and the demon Eligos that possessed Kelly in season one.
This new wave, which is due out in November, will feature yet another Ash – the asylum version this time. Here is the official description…
From the hit STARZ TV series, Ash vs. Evil Dead! The series follows Ash, stock boy, aging lothario and chainsaw-handed monster hunter who spent 30 years avoiding responsibility, and the terrors of the Evil Dead.
Asylum Ash comes with two interchangeable head sculpts and shotgun accessory.
We would have loved to see him with an Ashy-Slashy puppet on his hand, but we’ll live with the chainsaw for now.
This figure obviously represents the last quarter of the season two’s story arc, where we saw Ash in sedation and doubting himself. Instead of doing multiple versions of Ash this time around, they went heavier on the villain side of things. Following the Eligos lead from wave one, the season two demon we focus on this time is one of Ruby’s adult demon spawn.
The Adult Demon Spawn features plenty of gruesome detail and will have three variants with different heads.
And finally, going back to ’87 and Evil Dead II, one of Ash’s oldest rivals, season two resurrected Ted Raimi’s Henrietta.
Henrietta comes with two interchangeable head sculpts, one of which comes apart to simulate her gruesome defeat by, you guessed it, Ash’s chainsaw.
Figures stand approximately 7” tall and are highly articulated, with between 25 and 30 points of articulation each.
Now, this is now the third Ash in a series of figures that runs only six deep, and we’re not complaining, but we were hoping for a kickass Kelly action figure in here, and we gladly would have traded Ruby’s Demon Spawn for it…
