Turner will co-star with Asa Butterfield in the romantic comedy Time Freak, Andrew Bowler’s feature-length adaptation of his own Oscar-nominated short.

The film from the first time, feature-film director Bowler who, along with his producing partner Gigi Causey, put up their life savings into making the original short film of the same name. In addition to Turner and Butterfield, the film will also star Skyler Gisondo, Will Peltz, Aubrey Reynolds and Jillian Joy.

Time Freak follows Stillman, a heartbroken physics student (Butterfield) who builds a time machine when his girlfriend Debbie (Turner) breaks up with him. Going back in time, Stillman attempts to fix every mistake he made to save their relationship, while dragging his best friend, Evan (Gisondo), along in the process.

Time Freak

The film is being produced and financed by QC and Rhodes Entertainment in association with Beach Pictures. QC was one of the figures behind Jordan Peele’s Get Out which has become a phenomenal success as it nears the $200 million dollar mark at the global box office. Judging by their ability to create grand successes out of small budgeted films bodes well for Time Freak. The casting of Sophie Turner is also a great idea given her ties to the most popular show on television, Game of Thrones. Having a connection to a pop-culture phenomenon of that size guarantees that many in the audience will already be familiar with her screen presence, utilizing her popularity to drive marketing and better ensuring a successful film at the box-office.

You can check out the trailer for Bowler’s original Oscar-nominated short film below, and get an idea of the quirky nature his feature-length film version will have:

There isn’t a tentative date set for the release of Time Freak, but you’ll be able to can catch-up with Sophie Turner soon as she is set to return in Game Of Thrones Season 7, debuting on HBO on July 16.
