Earlier this spring, BBC's Radio 4 adapted and aired Neil Gaiman's novel Neverwhere, with a great range of voice stars: James McAvoy, Benedict Cumberbatch, Natalie Dormer, Christopher Lee, and many others. Now, the station will be adapting Gaiman's upcoming novel, The Ocean at the End of the Lane!

We loved the book when we read it earlier this year, and we’re pretty excited to see how it comes out in audio. The book will be adapted in five, fifteen minute segments starting sometime in July. There’s no word yet on casting, but Gaiman has described the actor as ”a fantastic, wonderful, award-winning, perfect, top-of-the-line actor”.

The book, which follows a young boy who finds himself among supernatural forces in his home, aided by three strange women with immense powers following a suicide on their quiet country lane. The book will be published on June 18th. The book has also been optioned for film treatment from Tom Hanks and Playtone Pictures.
