Science Channel hosted a panel on the evening of Friday, July 25 at the 2014 San Diego Comic Con to promote the channel's upcoming second season of The Unexplained Files.
The premiere season of The Unexplained Files explored a wide variety of mysteries including ghosts, UFOs, animal mutilations, and cryptozoological creatures. And these same topics will be explored in the show’s sophomore season.
Science Channel explains:
In season two of Science Channel’s The Unexplained Files 12 all-new episodes will launch viewers into another gripping exploration of the unknown by investigating more of the most puzzling, global incidents from the United States and Russia to Bosnia-Herzegovina, Mexico and more. Using dramatic reconstructions, riveting never-before-seen footage, first-hand eyewitness accounts, and expert interviews, The Unexplained Files takes a scientific look at the inexplicable, uncovering paranormal activities that have mystified scientists, inspired legends, and captured the human imagination for centuries. Many of the stories featured will reveal new evidence and bring forward previously undisclosed eyewitness accounts to shed light on stories that have baffled experts for years.
Those in the audience during the Comic Con panel were treated to an exclusive first-look at season two. The panelists included cryptozoologist Ken Gerhard, supernatural historian Troy Taylor, and paranormal investigator Chuck Zukowski. Video clips were shown to tease stories that will be explored during the season. The first clip was from an upcoming episode where Gerhard investigates the “Mexican Chupcabra” phenomenon. The second clip showed a fascinating exploration by Taylor into the true story that inspired the movie The Exorcist. And the third clip showed Zukowski presenting his theory about a paranormal superhighway that runs along the 37 degree latitude line.
The highlight of the panel was the appearance of Linda Blair, the star of the 1973 film The Exorcist.
During a Q & A period, an audience member asked Blair if she experienced anything paranormal during the filming of The Exorcist. Some fans were disillusioned when she admitted that she did not. But, on the topic of extraterrestrial life, Blair did admit that she has great belief that we are not alone in the universe.
Season two of The Unexplained Files premieres Tuesday, July 29 at 10 PM ET/PT on Science Channel. Be sure to follow us on Twitter and Instagram or on the Geek Facebook page and to experience SDCC 2014 along with the rest of our San Diego Comic-Con coverage.
