Comic book illustrator Arthur “Art” Adams’ lengthy resume begins with 1985’s Longshot #1. Since then, he has worked on books like The Uncanny X-Men, Excalibur, Fantastic Four, The Rocketeer and The Authority. Recently, Marvel assigned him the task of coming up with a variant cover for Matt Fraction and Michael Allred’s Marvel NOW! relaunch of FF. The publisher sent a preview of it my way earlier today, which you may see in full at the bottom of this post.
The Adam variant features the FF’s new lineup- Ant-Man, She-Hulk, Medusa and Ms. Thing – in the midst of battle. The hokey dialog (I type that with love) uttered by each character on the cover hearkens back to the era when Adams’ made his debut. It’s good fun, people.
Both versions of FF #1 – the Adams’ variant and the Michael Allred regular cover- will be available for purchase on November 28. They each will come with augmented reality content (recaps, behind-the-scenes features and more) viewable via the Marvel AR App.
Have you been following the Marvel NOW! relaunches? If so, how do you feel they compare with DC’s New 52? I implore you to comment with civility, dear readers.
