Telltale Games' Walking Dead: The Game episodic series has received a great deal of acclaim as of late (Game of the Year: Wired, Yahoo! Games, GamesRadar, Spike Video Game Awards, Destructoid, Complex and more). Several outlets have already christened it their game of the year. Even GeekExchange writer Robin Parrish listed it as the best game of 2012! To celebrate, the developer has made the mobile version of the series' first episode, "A New Day," available for free on the App Store. This offer is only good for a limited time, so act now if you're interested.
The episode structure is a bit different here than in previous Telltale efforts. After acquiring the first episode, the rest may be purchased via an in-app store. This method was adopted to help beat approval process-related delays their past projects have suffered from. Post-”A New Day” episodes of Walking Dead: The Game will set you back $4.99; if you wish, you may grab the whole 5-episode series as a multi-pack for $14.99.
Have you checked out Walking Dead: The Game yet? I tried “A New Day” and liked it; however, I couldn’t get past the intensity of the second episode. I’m too wimpy and/or tightly wound to enjoy it. How about you?
