We have been waiting for quite a while to see Grant Gustin suited up as the Flash, and today we got our first look!
While only the mask has been revealed, it looks pretty impressive and only builds the anticipation we have for this series. Take a look for yourself, and then we’ll talk a bit more about the costume:
The mask itself looks pretty great, with incredibly clean lines and an interesting texture. The ear-bolts seem to have been modified slightly to incorporate the Flash logo a bit better, which we have yet to see in full. It will be interesting to see the rest of the completed costume on Gustin, and more importantly in motion, which is really what will make or break the costume.
Gustin looks pretty great in the mask, and if anyone was doubting his ability to pull off Barry Allen, let alone the Flash, this first glimpse may just silence some of the haters. Obviously we will have to wait to see more from this pilot, but with a solid cast and what seems like genuine excitement from the studio, this series is quickly becoming one of our most anticipated.
The costume was designed by Colleen Atwood, a three-time Oscar winner who designed Ollie’s costume on Arrow. The pilot will star Gustin (obviously), along with Jesse L. Martin, Rick Costnett, Danielle Panabaker, Candace Patton, Carlos Valdez, Tom Cavanaugh, and John Wesley Shipp, who played the Flash in the ’90s TV series.
