Add one more movie trailer to the stack scheduled to play in front of the Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey this Friday. Between Star Trek Into Darkness, Iron Man 3, The Wolverine, Man of Steel, and now The Lone Ranger, I'm wondering if we'll end up sitting through 30-60 minutes of trailers before we ever get to see Bilbo start his adventure. Not that I'm complaining. Since I'm going to the midnight screening in IMAX, I'm looking forward to setting my eyes upon these films on the big screen. Of course, if you're one of the types who can't wait or you write for a website that has to post stuff like this, here's your chance to see the Lone Ranger trailer a little early. Why not? We posted the Man of Steel trailer just this morning. What's one more?
The Lone Ranger is directed by Gore Verbinski and comes to us from the folks that brought us the Pirates of the Caribbean films. One look at this trailer and you can tell. Hey, it’s got Johnny Depp playing Tonto and Armie Hammer (The Social Network) as the titular western legend. And somehow it has Helena Bonham Carter, looking perpetually surprised and drunk as she usually does, without the involvement of Time Burton! How did that happen?
The Lone Ranger rides into theaters July 3rd, 2013. Will you be seeing it based on this trailer?
