"Kill the dead, fear the living" becomes TV's favorite mantra for another season as AMC has green-lit TV's #1 show for adults 18-49, The Walking Dead, for a fifth season. Surprise, right?
AMC President Charlie Collier even made light of the news saying, “We are very happy to make what has to be one of the most anti-climactic renewal announcements ever: The Walking Dead is renewed for a fifth season”. The new season will air in fall 2014 with eight episodes and wrap spring 2015 with another eight episodes. There’s not a ton of details in yet, but we do know the Walking Dead companion series (aka a spin-off) is still slated for a 2015 debut. The spin-off will be based on a new story and new characters from Robert Kirkman that will follow the same continuity of the current series.
The Walking Dead is notorious for changing showrunners as frequently as they change the cast, but it looks like current showrunner, Scott Gimble, is here to stay for another season along with along with executive producers Robert Kirkman, Gale Anne Hurd, David Alpert, Greg Nicotero, and Tom Luse.
Season four has started off strong with a plethora of new characters, new relationships and a shocking new viral threat to the camp. So what say you Geek nation?
